WHY THE NAME CONTINUUM PHYSIOTHERAPY?

The meaning of the word continuum has been described as “something that keeps on going, changing slowly over time”. That is very much like our physical bodies and particularly the lives we live. Health across the lifespan of an individual changes throughout various stages from infancy through to late adulthood as our bodies evolve with age. Physical activity is an important part of taking good care of our bodies. In 2014-2015 in Australia, 54% of women and 51% of men aged 18-64 were considered inactive or insufficiently active. 80% of Australian children and teenagers aged 5-17 did not meet physical activity recommendations.

At Continuum Physiotherapy we are passionate about good health and helping promote physical activity so that our bodies are better able to cope with the physical demands of daily life, various vocations, sporting activities and the ever-changing ageing process. Along with this, musculoskeletal pain is a common experience throughout life. Continuum can help assist with the alleviation of musculoskeletal pain conditions often encountered. In short, our lives can be understood on a continuum with various changes in ageing, physical capacity and health. Continuum Physiotherapy is purposed to help offer our expertise to improve the physical states of people by optimising good function and reduction of pain so that along the continuum of life, life itself can be most enjoyed.
