Physiotherapy involves the treatment of various physical conditions by degree-trained professionals. Physiotherapists utilise modalities and strategies that are informed by research evidence to help alleviate pain and improve physical function. Such strategies include rehabilitative exercise programs, manual therapy “hands on” techniques as well as promoting movement.

No. Physiotherapists are considered Primary Care Practitioners meaning that a referral is not required to see a physiotherapist. In the case of any WorkCover/Transport Accident Commission (TAC) claims, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), Medicare Chronic Disease Management (formerly Enhanced Primary Care; EPC) plans will require appropriate documentation completed from your General Practitioner and brought with you for your physiotherapy appointment.

There is 1-hour parking directly outside the clinic on Bell Street. There is also 2-hour parking on Dresden Street, Heidelberg Heights; we recommend parking here particularly for your initial consultation where appts can be up to 1 hour in duration. Please be aware that Bell Street can be a busy road so please ensure your safety is considered.

Monday’s to Thursday’s 8am to 8pm. Friday’s 8am to 7pm. Saturday’s 7am to 1pm.

Initial consultation appointment are up to 60 minutes in length. Follow-up review appointments are 30 minutes.

Payment is required at time of your appointment. Payment can be made with cash, credit card of debit card. We have a HICAPS terminal that allows for claiming of private health insurance on the spot. Please bring your private health insurance card with you to take advantage of the HICAPS facility. Those with Medicare Chronic Disease Management (EPC) plans will require payment to be made in full on the day. For WorkCover and TAC patients we do not bill insurers or TAC directly; it is the patient’s requirement to pay for the appointment in full and we will provide you a receipt to seek reimbursement from the relevant body.

We require a minimum 24 hours notice notification if your appointment is to be cancelled. In the case of less than 24 hours notification a fee may be incurred. We will send you an email reminder 1 day prior to your appointment.

Please bring any referrals (from doctors/specialists), reports and imaging scans that may assist your practitioner with the assessment process. To help the practitioner observe the body part more easily, for lower limb injuries (e.g. knee, hip, thigh, lower leg injuries) please bring shorts and for neck and shoulder injuries please wear a singlet.
